Cut-A-Thon for the Cure a Success

In an effort to generate research funds for breast cancer, the stylists at Axle Color Studio hosted a cut-a-thon on June 23rd to raise money for the the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure Fund. In a few short hours, the salon was able to raise almost $1,700, making the event an inspiring success.

The salon offered haircuts, blowouts and mini makeup makeovers with 100% of the proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure. Alantra Spa, Embody MedSpa and ABSolute Fitness (all located in North Reading) donated products and gift certificates to the raffle. FitHouse, a new cycling and training studio located in Woburn, provided upbeat music at the event and donated spin and strength classes to the raffle. D’Amicis Bakery (Lynn, Wakefield and Melrose) and The Pizza Guys (North Reading) kept patrons well fed with delicious pastries and pizza throughout the day.

“I can’t tell you how special the event was to me and it is all thanks to the professionals at Axle Color Studio”, said client Sue Salvatierra. “Their dedication and hard work helped raise a lot of money to wipe out breast cancer in our lifetimes while providing the premier service for which they are known.” Salvatierra, who lives in North Reading, has been walking the Boston Susan G. Komen 3-Day since 2007 and will be walking again from July 26-28.
